The first platform that you can use to start blogging for free is 

Blogger

This is one of the old & quite popular blogging platforms, the USP of this website is it is from Google & no matter whether you are using blogger subdomain (free version) or using your custom domain

You’ll get the hosting for free

Also even if you are using a blogger for a free blog you can still monetize your blog with Google Adsense

Blogger is the only free blogging platform that is allowed by Google Adsense

Drawback:

Customization is limited, you’ll need additional scripts to make changes or add features to your blog

WordPress

This is my favorite blogging platform. all my blogs are in WordPress

It makes customization super easy, you can create a blog /website just like you want with just some clicks

There are tons of plugins available that make blogging easy

Doing SEO is quite simple with the help of SEO plugins like Rankmath, Yoast SEO, etc

WordPress has two versions WordPress.com which is free & WordPress.org which is paid

If you are someone who wants to get familiar with WordPress without spending money then I would strongly recommend you to check WordPress.com

In fact, I started my blogging journey with a free WordPress blog,. It is still active, it still drives traffic even though I haven’t updated that blog in almost 2years

Start for free on WordPress.com build your blog & then when you see traffic coming in you can easily upgrade it

Drawback

If you are using the free version of WordPress I e if you’re website is on WordPress.com  then You can’t monetize your Website with Google Adsense

But if you want to create a blog to do affiliate marketing, my first choice would be WordPress

This is a recent addition to my favorite list, Groove blog is a platform by Groove Digital

It is absolutely free, really simple to set up & SEO Friendly. I’m maintaining 2 of my client’s blogs on the Groove blog, it is easy to use & really fast. Do check it out

But make sure you read the rules & regulations of medium or else they will suspend your account

Drawback:

no google AdSense, you have to mark affiliate link & let your audience know that you are getting paid from them
