What is a Sales Funnel
If you are running an online business, a sales funnel is one of the best & effective ways to grow your business.
Sales Funnel is basically a series of steps a process that your customer goes through from being a complete stranger to a potential lead to a paying customer.
This process is divided into 4 steps aka AIDA i.e Awareness, Interest, Desire & Action
How Do Sales Funnel Work? Sales Funnel Explained
Each stage of the sales funnel is designed to move potential customers closer to making a purchase.
By understanding the different stages, businesses can create targeted marketing campaigns that are more likely to resonate with their audience.
Sales Funnel Stages
First Stage is
Creating Awareness
Here the customer needs to be made aware of your product. unless & until someone knows your product exists there is no point in hoping for sales.
So, the most crucial & initial stage of the sales funnel is making your potential customers aware of your products.
This could be done by promoting your product on social media, running paid ads, or improving the SEO of your website so that people can find you on Google
Sparkling An interest
Once the potential customer is aware of your product, the next stage is to spark an interest.
this could be done by redirecting them to read a blog post or a video that explains your product, some social proof that shows your product’s credibility
Creating a Desire
Buying a product means giving you money & people will only give you money when they love what they’ll get in return. as people don’t buy products they buy solutions.
So if you want to sell your product, sell the solution that your product provides.
paint a picture of the end results your potential customers will enjoy when they use your product.
When they love the end results, it creates a desire in them that will make them buy the product
Action
They love your product, and they are sold on the result but the next thing is they have to make the purchase.
This could be done by sweetening the deal
– you can offer them a 5%-10% discount. it doesn’t matter how small or big a discount is…people love discounts.
If they are getting a discount for buying a product they actually wanna bug, it just gives them the additional push they need to take the action.
You can also influence your customers in taking an action by creating scarcity…
this could be achieved by adding a timer or limited stock sign to your sales page.
I hope you got an idea about how the sales funnel works…
But to make it clear I’m gonna share with you the exact sales funnel that I created for one of my clients
Real Sales Funnel Example – My Clients Sales Funnel Case Study- Crucial Info is Hidden
So my client is a parenting coach…she helps new parents with their kids. and we used lead generation funnel for her online coaching business.
For the awareness step – we first create a free ebook ” How to feed stubborn kids “
Making your eat kid is one of the biggest challenges for parents, especially with toddlers so this free ebook was a hit.
We posted this ebook on Facebook groups as well as Instagram & we collected leads.
Then we send a personalized email asking them about the challenges they are facing with their kids..and based on the responses they were added to email campaigns.
This could be done by using email automation like Convertkit
Then we invited them to the webinars based on their challenges – we created a group of parents based on the challenges
for example – fussy kids who refused to eat & stubborn kids who don’t listen were in the same group.
Kids who don’t eat & kids who are losing weight were put together etc.
Then my client had a paid 23 days training that would help parents to understand kids’ psychology, things that parents can do to connect with their kids better & best practices to overcome their challenges.
Finally, we had a high-ticket product where there would be 1 on 1 counseling as well as weekly sessions to overcome the challenges.
This funnel worked quite well…This is all I was allowed to share with you.

How To Create Your Own Funnel
First
You need to find your target audience, you need to know who your customer avatar is…
If you find your target audience it becomes pretty easy to design the funnel because you would know who they are & what are they pain points
Second
to create awareness you need to create a way to reach your target audience. You could do this by giving away a free lead magnet, template, worksheets, white paper, etc
You can reach your audience through your blog, through social media, or by using paid ads
( if you don’t want to burn your money, you can get $125 free ad credit to run paid ads here)
Once you get their emails next step is to nurture them, and send follow-up emails that are full of value and address their pain points.
Third
Introduce your product, not as a product but as a way to solve their problem.
also direct them to some social proofs, reviews, testimonials, end results that your previous customers have…so that they could trust you
Fourth & last
Influence them to take action this could be done by having a clear call-to-action so that they know exactly what they have to do to get their desired results.
You could also create scarcity like only 100 seats available or a limited-time offer…give them some discount or a bonus
And mind you this should never be the last step…always be there for your customers.
It’s not like once they pay you, forget & move on to next…always be available for your customer,
if they run into any trouble with your product make sure you are there to resolve it.
this not only keeps your customer happy but they might also end up being a recurring customer.
Also, you can provide a 30 days or 60 days return policy which builds the trust that their money is well spent & is safe if they are not satisfied.
Hope You learn everything you need to know to launch your sales funnel
Now How Exactly Your Sales Funnel Should Look Like
The ideal Sales Funnel will look something like this Landing Page >> Thanking You Page >> High Ticket Offer
How Should A Ideal Landing Page Should Be
The landing page is a page where you’ll be driving all your traffic to.
It should have your free lead magnet & a form for your viewers to enter their details
You could give away the details about your free lead magnet, its components, its benefits, results, etc.
having social proof, testimonials, video sales letters, etc is added bonus
Most importantly your landing page should have a clear CTA
What A landing Page Should Not Have
Your landing page should be a simple page with clear navigation…there should not be anything that isn’t needed.
Don’t add any unnecessary links, and don’t have pages like home, about us, contact us anything on your landing page.
Never add AdSense or any other banner ads on your landing pages –
most don’t but people who used wordpress to create landing pages do this & this is the biggest turn-off.
Not only do ads distract your viewers but they also scream run… because ads on landing pages mostly lead to scams.
How Should a Thank You Page Be
Your Thank you page should be simple.
Display a message that their lead magnet is on the way or provide a link to download the lead magnet.
Next, add a Video talking about your service or an affiliate product that will help your audience get the desired results 10X faster
For example, if your free ebook is 25 best practices to grow an e-commerce store
In the video, you can offer your service where you’ll be helping the eCommerce store to hit its first 6 figures (high ticket product )
This is an optional step but most successful digital marketers do use this.
I personally love this technique
Best Practices
Have a simple & clear sales funnel. minimum distraction often leads to maximum conversions.
A clear Call to Action is a must… let your viewers know exactly what they have to do.
Segment your audience – By understanding the needs and pain points of different segments of your audience, you can create a sales funnel that speaks directly to them and increases conversions.
Keep testing & optimizing your sales funnel
it’s essential to continuously test and optimize your sales funnel. Use A/B testing to experiment with different elements of your funnel, such as your CTAs or landing pages.
Use data to inform your decisions and make changes that will increase conversions over time.
