My go-to software to design is Canva. I use Canva not only for logo designing but pretty everything that requires designing for my business
It is a freemium software which means it has both free & paid version
If you’re just starting out I recommend using Canva free but if you’re thinking to go deep in like offering freelancing services to make some serious money then go for Canva pro
It is pretty cheap & probably the best investment for your online business

How to Design A Logo using Canva + Mistakes to Avoid
When it comes to designing a logo on Canva ik many YouTubers suggest you use the templates
Which is true to some extent but not exactly how you should do it
Yes Canva provides templates & you can use them BUT you got to work on it
I have seen many people offering logo design freelancing services, they just go ahead change the text on the template & then try to sell to the client
Never ever do that…..this is the biggest mistake that will be the reason you’ll fail as a logo designing freelancer & I’m pretty sure you don’t want that
Offering a logo design freelancing gig might seem easy but it is still serious work & if you want to make money from logo designing then you got to work on it
Right Way to Design Logo on Canva
Go to Canva
Search for logo
Now check out the available Templates, if you know your niche this becomes easier
For example, if you’re designing a logo for a salon or parlor, type in beauty
Then select the template you like & then here is the mistake I talked about
what most people do is when they select the template they just change the text & try to pass it on as their own logo
Now here is the reason why this technique fails or sucks
Reason 1
Just like you, there are 100 others who are offering the same template with just different names… so the chances of your client being impressed by this template are quite slim

Canva…
Although Canva offers free templates it is frowned upon to use the ready-made template just as it is,
Not a legit reason but from the personal experience I had, some of my students who did this & had landed in some trouble so I won’t recommend using the template just as it is
So what can you do
Get inspired by the design, use it as a basic layout & tweak it according to your creativity
Change the color, change the font, play with font sizes, add some elements, delete some….make some changes that will make your template seem different from the other 100’s & then you can proudly flaunt your design to your client
Mistake That is Costing You Clients
Many people when they start logo designing, tend to go overboard. they try to do too much to show their skill but honestly, that is the reason why they are failing
They try to use different kinds of fonts, too many elements, lots of colors & that is not how logo’s should be
When it comes to logos, the simpler they are, the better.
An ideal logo should be simple, clear & easy to understand. Keep it simple silly
People tend to use logos as a favicon as well, so it helps when it is simple & EASY TO UNDERSTAND
Stick to 1 maximum 2 fonts, use the colors that compliment your client’s brand & add an element relevant to their niche
Logo Design Services Offering Platform – Where to Get Clients
There are many freelancing platforms available but the ones I used to use when I was offering services as a freelancer were Fiverr & Upwork
Although Upwork pays better compared to Fiverr but it might be a bit overwhelming for beginners. So, I recommend you to get started with Fiverr, get some clients, do some work, get feedback & then jump on to Upwork
